Agate is a form of Chalcedony found in all varieties of colours. Agate is used for stabilising the aura, eliminating and transforming negative energies.

Amazonite has a mottled green appearance. It is a green stone that can go from pale seafoam in colour to dark teal. It is said to heal and open the heart and throat chakra to enhance loving communication.

Amber is fossilized tree resin dating back 20 to 40 million years ago. Its colour varies from golden yellow to orange and red. Amber is used for cleansing the chakras. It is said to absorb pain and negative energy therefore allowing the body to heal itself.

Amethyst is quartz with manganese creating different shades of purple (from pale violet to a deep, intense purple). It is said to be an excellent cleanser for the blood and can help with insomnia therefore bringing restful sleep. 

Aventurine is from the quartz family. Green Jade-like colour and opaque. Wearing Aventurine absorbs electromagnetic smog and protects against environmental pollution. The stone promotes compassions and encourages perseverance.

Bloodstone is an opaque dark green stone with red flecks. It is said to be an excellent blood cleanser and a powerful healer. It heightens intuition and increases creativity.

Blue Lace Agate is light blue with soft white banding. It is a powerful throat healer and helps with self expression. It is said to help with arthritic conditions.

Transparent semi-precious gemstone ranging in colour from pale baby blue to a brilliant deep light blue colour.

Carnelian is an agate which is uniform deep translucent orange/red. Carnelian grounds and anchors you in the present. It is said to be excellent for restoring vitality and creativity. Carnelian has the ability to cleanse other stones.

Citrine is a form of quartz found in a vibrant yellow colour ranging from pale yellow to golden yellow. Citrine is extremely protective of the environment. It is an aura protector and is said to alleviate fatigue.

Coral comes in many colours and varieties. The most common used in jewellery is in shades of red.

Fancy Jasper is multi coloured jasper ranging in colour from pale grey, to shades of lavender, mauves, greens, and browns. Jasper is known as the nurturer and sustains and supports during times of stress. If used in healing Jasper is said to unify all aspects of your life.

Fluorite comes in almost every colour. Purple, green, colourless, white, yellow, pink, red, blue and black. Transparent to translucent. Fluorite is highly protective especially on a psychic level and cleanses and stabilises the aura. If it is used in healing it is said to help with stress.

Freshwater pearls are farmed in fresh water and grown in mussels. They are usually light in colour and can be died to almost any permanent colour.

Garnet is blood red, solid in colour. It used to be worn as a protective talisman and is said to revitalise and balance energy, bringing passion or serenity as appropriate. Garnet inspires love and devotion.

Goldstone is rust-brown with tiny copper/gold glitter. It is said to have been originally created when alchemists were working towards creating gold. 

Goldstone Blue is deep blue with tiny copper/gold glitter.

Hematite is iron rich dark steel grey with metallic sheen. It is excellent for grounding and protection and is said to help with circulatory problems.

Howlite can be milky white, usually with a grey matrix or green or blue. It is a calming stone. If placed under the pillow it helps with insomnia and is said to help calming the emotions and stilling the mind for meditation.

Iolite is blue and yellow with violet and/or grey undertones. Translucent stone ranging from fairly pale to deep grey/blue. Iolite activates the third eye and is said to release discord in relationships.

Jade is green opaque and semi-opaque primarily, although, it comes in many other colours; red, brown, and blue. It is a symbol of serenity and purity. It increases love and nurturing and is a protective stone. It is believed to attract good luck.

Jasper is an opaque and fine grained variety of Chalcedony. It is found in many colours including: red, brown, pink, yellow, green, grey/white and shades of blue. Jasper aligns the chakras and can aid with dowsing. It is said to bring courage to deal with situations assertively and encourages honesty with oneself.

Labradorite is a form of feldspar. Labradorite is a very interesting mineral.  Depending on the angle from which the specimen is viewed, it can appear to be a nondescript grey-green rock or it can display a grand range of colours (usually blue or green) known as labradorescence that flashes as you turn it at different angles. This phenomenon can be seen in specimens that are uncut, but it is fantastically clear in cut and polished specimens. It is a highly mystical and protective stone. It connects with universal energies and forms a barrier to negativity. Labradorite is useful during times of change and is said to impart strength and perseverance.

Lapis Lazuli is a deep blue colour and a minimally calcite white colour with inclusions of pyrite sometimes seen as flecks - brass yellow in colour. This stone is said to help release stress and bring deep peace. It is a protective stone and bonds relationships in love and friendship.

Leopard Skin Jasper is a strikingly beautiful. It is usually a tan stone covered with coloured dots, like the skin of a leopard. Colours can include from tan, pink, red, grey and black.

Moonstone is from the feldspar family. White with a blue or white sheen like the shine of the moon. Translucent whitish colour with iridescent blue or white sheen. It is a stone for new beginnings. It is strongly connected to the intuition. It's most powerful effect is that it is said to calm the emotions.

Moss Agate gets its name from the green patches of colour which resemble moss growing on a rock. Various shades of grey with streaks and flecks of dark green to black. Transparent to opaque has varying shades of green, brown, yellow and white. It is said to refresh the soul and release blockages. Moss Agate is said to speed up recovery.

Mother of Pearl in its natural state is usually a beautiful shimmery tan and often called "Caramel Mother-of-Pearl". When Mother-of-Pearl is bleached, it turns a snowy, shimmery white.

Onyx is a member of the chalcedony family which also includes carnelian, agate, bloodstone, etc. Onyx is a strength giving stone which is said to give support during times of mental or physical stress. Onyx helps you be at ease and overcome fears and worries.

Peridot is green, ranging from a summery light yellowish green to a 7-up bottle green. It is a protective stone for the aura and is said to improve difficult relationships.

The surface of a Pietersite looks rather chaotic, with streaks and colours going every direction. During the formation of the crystal, the materials that make it up were broken apart, swirled every which way, then were reformed and cemented together by Quartz. Stones and crystals that go through that process are referred to as brecciated. Colours include blues, rusty reds, golds and browns. It is a special stone - a stone of vision - and works to remove blockages and is said to help process suppressed feelings.

Picture Jasper exhibits the spectrum of creams and browns. It brings comfort and harmony and is said to help the immune system. It is said to bring old feelings and patterns from the past to the surface so that they can be released.

Quartz Crystal is colourless and transparent. It is also known as "Rock Crystal". Other colours of quartz have special names such as: Rose Quartz, Citrine, and Amethyst. Brown quartz is often referred to as Smokey Quartz. Smokey Quartz is often irradiated clear quartz. Quartz is a powerful healer and can be used for any condition. It is said harmonise all the chakras.

Red Jasper is a stimulating stone. It makes an excellent "worry bead" that is said to help calm the emotions when played with. If placed under the pillow it can help with dream recall.

Rhodochrosite is pink with white streaks. It is an excellent stone for the heart and relationships. It encourages a positive attitude and is also said to help with emotional expression.

Rhodonite is named after the Greek word for rose, rhodon. Its rose-pink colour is distinctive. Rhodonite is usually associated with black manganese minerals which form patterns. It is an emotional balancer. Rhodonite is said to be useful in clearing away scars and emotional wounds from ones past. It can promote unselfish love and forgiveness.

Rhyolite consists mainly of feldspars and quartz. It includes a wide range of colours that form intricate patterns. These all have a green matrix. It enhances change and self esteem.

Named for its pink colour (from titanium), it's often crackled. It is translucent and can range in colour from pale peach to pink. Rose Quartz is the stone of Universal Love. This stone is used to bring balance to the whole body.

Silver Leaf Jasper is a silvery semi-precious gemstone, reminiscent of silvery leaves in a forest, usually with very interesting patterns.

Smokey Quartz is a clear grey or brown variety of crystalline quartz, colour ranges from medium light tan to medium dark brown. It is one of the most efficient stones for grounding and can also raise vibrations during meditation. It is said to bring emotional calmness and to be able to dissolve negatives emotions.

Obsidian is natural glass formed by volcanic lava that cooled too quickly. It is usually black. When there are bubbles or crystal inclusions, it is often called snowflake obsidian and is black with white markings. Snowflake Obsidian calms and soothes and can bring balance to mind, body and spirit.

Sodalite is an opaque, navy blue stone usually with white streaks. Sodalite brings harmony. It is said to be useful for people who suffer with "sick building syndrome".

Tigers Eye is a variety of quartz. The colour usually consists of golden, brown and black shimmering bands, but examples are also found in a reddish brown colour. It is a protective stone that can balance the body. It is said to alleviate depression and lift moods.

Turquoise is an Opaque stone, which, as its name suggests is turquoise in colour. This turquoise colour can range from green to blue. The presence of copper gives turquoise a sky blue colour with a dark matrix usually black veining due to inclusions. Turquoise is a healer. It used to be worn as protective amulets. It is said to aid the immune system, stabilise mood swings and promote communication.

Unikite is an opaque granitic rock with main parts of aggregate being quartz and feldspar, as well as greenish epidote, where the olive green colour is mixed up with salmon pink sections. It is a stone of vision and can be used for balancing the emotions.
