Amberlin Gift Vouchers
You can purchase Amberlin Gift Vouchers just like any
other stock item and send them to friends and relatives so that they can select
an item of their choice.
How it works
Click on the Gift Vouchers
category in the left hand box and purchase one of the available gift
vouchers. Once you have completed your purchase and the transaction has been
validated by Amberlin, the value of the gift voucher will be added to your Gift
Voucher Account for you to distribute to others or use yourself.
Gift Voucher Account
Your Gift Voucher Account is accessible by logging in and
clicking on ‘My
Account’. Here you will see the balance in the account and an option to send
a voucher to someone via email.
Sending a voucher to someone
You can send multiple vouchers of any amount up to a total
value of the balance in your account. For example, you might purchase a £20
voucher, send a £7.50 voucher to your sister, £5 to your favourite cousin, £5 to
your best friend and use the remaining £2.50 for your own next purchase. To send
a voucher, click on ‘Send Gift Voucher’ in the ‘Gift Voucher/Coupon’ box. Enter
their name, email address, the value of the voucher you wish to send, excluding
the currency symbol (i.e. for £10 enter 10) and add any comments to the message.
Click ‘Continue’ and then ‘Send’ and the voucher will be sent to the addressee.
Each voucher you send will have a unique redemption code and the email will
contain instructions and an embedded link back to this site for them to redeem
the voucher.
Redeeming a voucher
When someone receives your voucher via email they simply
click on the embedded link in the email and they will be directed to our site,
where they must first log in or create an account. The voucher will be then
added to their own Gift Voucher Account, where they can use it to pay for, or
offset the cost of their next purchase. Alternatively, they can access the site
as normal and enter the redemption code on the payment screen.
Although gift vouchers can only be used for purchases and
cannot be exchanged for cash, you never lose any of their value. If you have a
£10 gift voucher and buy something for £7.50 then it simply deducts £7.50 from
your account, leaving £2.50 in there for next time.
As gift vouchers do not expire they can also be used as a
convenient way of saving up for presents. By buying small value vouchers at intervals
during the year you can then use your account to fund birthday or Christmas
gifts or simply email vouchers to friends and relative so that they can choose
their own.
Paying with the voucher
To use the voucher to pay for goods just tick the ‘Tick to
use Gift Voucher account balance’ box on the payment screen and the voucher will
be used as payment/part-payment for the order. If the voucher has not yet been
redeemed you should enter the redemption code in the 'Credits Available' box and
click 'Redeem' first. Any outstanding balance will be left in the account and
can used on future orders.
